In our Workshops you learn the basics of beading over an 8 week course, taking in many traditional bead stitches (like daisy chain; brick stitch. 2-way-weaving; metal work, square stitch; loom work, tubular netting and peyote) as well as modern techniques in a weekly session of 2 hours. At the end of your course you have at least 8 individual pieces of jewellery. You will be taught the tricks of the trade, anything about beads and findings in general, as well as “how to finish your projects” in a professional manner. We will show you which tools you really do need for beading and the ones you really do not need for beading.
Yes, males are very welcome to join our beading classes and we feel very priviliged to have taught beading to quite a few men over the years; as we teach also non wearable beading projects and wire work we are happy to show you how it is done.
Childen are also most welcome to our beading classes. During school holidays we often organise a childrens class. As a former teacher in primary as well as high school and still being a registered teacher, Edith has the blue card and you can feel safe to send your child to her classes.
We offer Private Lessons for the special project you would like to learn how it is done.
Many of our beginning beaders are going on to our advanced course. This course has weekly sessions of 2 hours and is unlimited in time. During this course you learn netting, knotting, knitting, crochet with beads and much more.
We work in small groups (3 to max 5 people). Every person gets the same amount of attention and the small group allows for a friendly and caring atmosphere. Our workshops are held in our shop at 16A Grosvenor Rd. Indooroopilly.
If you have a specific project you would like some help with, or a new technique you would like to learn, a Private Lesson might be for you.
The cost is $30 for a one hour session in which we can help you one-on-one with any beading work you may have, aswell as advice on the best way to go about making individual masterpieces!
Bookings are essential as we have a high demand for Private Lessons.
